| TheatreWorks of Northern Nevada Presents "Cinders" |
| Sparks, NV, March 15, 2013 – TheatreWorks of Northern Nevada presents an original play Cinders, an adaption of Cinderella, written and directed by Sandra Brunell Neace. The play runs 7 pm on Friday and Saturday, May 10, 11, 17 and 18. Matinee performance at 2 pm on Sunday, May 19. All performances will be held at the Laxalt Auditorium, 401 W. Second Street in Reno. Title role Cinders is an overweight teenage girl. She’s the focus of serious bullying. Set in present day where bullying has become an epidemic, the play shines light on the issues teenage girls face with their body image and how media plays a large role in fueling the problem. There’s intelligent humor mixed in adding light moments. Cinders has a trailer trash, demanding, evil stepmother who married into money. She also has two stepsisters. Fortunately, one stepsister is sympathetic to Cinders and she has loyal friends too. It’s the sincere hope that those who see this play will be better equipped to handle bullying whether it’s against them or if they observe it. Also, to stop themselves if they realize they have been cruel to others and to become empathetic and respectful despite outward appearances. Sandra Brunell Neace directs a cast of teens and adults in this TheatreWorks spring production. Cinders is recommended for ages 13 and older. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $7 for students and seniors and may be purchased at www.twnn.org or by calling 775-284-0789. |

| What we are currently working on. . . |
| We have been so busy in the last two months we haven’t had a chance to blow our horn! Looks like we’re gonna have to blow the whole darn brass section – we’ve done SO MUCH COOL STUFF!!!
We booked 28 PAID promo models for a major local sporting event and another 4 PAID promo talent for an upscale golf tournament. We had 17 print talent on a PAID photo shoot for a major hotel/resort/casino and another print model on a PAID booking for a health awareness campaign. The billboards are up for our 12 talent who were booked on the PAID RSCVA campaign. And tune in to KTVN to watch 10 of our youth on a PAID PSA running through November and December. KTVN producers were so pleased with our talent following that shoot they offered Nevada Casting the exclusive on their talent needs. We cast two talent in PAID commercial for a local funeral home. And cast another 5 talent in a NATIONAL PAID photo shoot for Thule. That’s right – THULE. One of our talent is becoming the spokesmodel for a major local retailer – meaning ongoing PAID work. And of course, long-time Nevada Casting talent, Annie Woods, continues to be the PAID face of KOLO's Mom's Everyday.com/ Mom to Mom segments on television. Oh yeah, we also wrapped the SAG FEATURE FILM “Last Weekend” starring Patricia Clarkson. This film employed 107 Nevada Casting talent as backgrounders – ALL PAID. Another 3 talent had PAID speaking roles, 2 talent were doubles for the leads and one talent was a stunt double! Of course, we did all this while shooting the independent film “Nowhere Nevada” featuring, again, a ton of PAID Nevada Casting talent. And, we shot another 16 spots of a local talk show while doing it. AND, we PAID back to the community as well – 5 Nevada Casting talent and their parents helped the Food Bank during a local rock concert and another 25 Nevada Casting talent rocked the Vampire Gala for the Our Hearts, Our Families, Our Community Charity. And ya know what? We’re leaving out a TON of stuff. Busy isn’t just great – busy is a blessing.
We are extremely excited that our Talent are getting all of these opportunities - your hard work and dedication really are paying off! If you are not auditioning then you are missing out. If you are not represented by NCGI then you are really missing out. We hope to see you at the next audition opportunity and/or Open Call. |
